The island of Skopelos, Greece, is the largest island in the Sporades group of Greek islands and can be reached by ferry from Skiathos. Skopelos is a quieter island than Skiathos and offers beautiful scenery and a more relaxed way of life. Skopelos holidays offer the visitors plenty of picturesque countrysides, including mountains, ravines and woodlands. The relaxed pace of life on Skopelos is assisted by the lack of an airport which keeps the island calm and an unspoiled oasis. Holidays in Skopelos benefit from quiet beaches with fewer tavernas than some of the busier resorts on Skiathos; as such, it’s perfect for couples looking for romance and solitude.

Traditional Charm of Skopelos Town
Skopelos Town is a traditional town filled with red-tiled roofs, whitewashed houses and cobbled streets, all set into the hillside. The town is a very romantic and charming location and due to this, Skopelos is very popular with couples and newlyweds. Skopelos Town is sleepy and peaceful with cosy tavernas in which to spend your evening; there is none of the busy nightlife which can be found in Skiathos Town. Some music can still be found in the town, however.

Stunning Scenery and Historic Churches
Skopelos holidays are enjoyable purely for the countryside which is rich in olive groves, plum and almond trees and plenty of forests. The buildings on Skopelos are well maintained and amongst these are more than 360 whitewashed churches and small chapels.
