There are of course more than enough options for the wealthy, with the major international luxury chains present in large numbers. Most of these luxury hotels and resorts are situated on the coast and offer all the amenities an international traveller could desire. Standard features include private facilities, 24-hour room service, satellite television, internet access, onsite restaurants, and swimming pools.
Hotels
There are also many mid-range hotels in town. If you want budget accommodation, options are a little bit thin on the ground, but if you venture away from the coast a little bit, prices do tend to drop and there are a couple of affordable options available.
Self-catering
A very popular alternative is to rent a self-catering holiday apartment. Many of these are ideal for larger families or groups of friends. Facilities are world class and heated swimming pools and landscaped gardens are quite common in this category.
All-inclusive
All-inclusive Sharm el Sheikh holidays is of course a very attractive option, if you do not have the time or inclination to make all the individual arrangements yourself. You will no doubt enjoy excellent accommodation, depending on the package you choose, everything from the flights to meals, and excursions can be included. There are so many excellent restaurants in town that a full board option is probably not the best choice. Select half-board or breakfast only as this will give you the opportunity to explore the local cuisine.
Food to Enjoy
Sharm El Sheikh is a haven for food lovers. If you want, you can eat a different type of meal every day and you still will not be able to complete all the available options.
There are of course the standard international fast food options such as McDonalds, KFC, and Pizza Hut. If you have more refined culinary tastes, you can choose from a variety of delicious seafood restaurants as well as French, Lebanese, Thai, Italian, Indian, and Chinese restaurants. The most authentic dining experience of all is to savour the delicacies at the local market. Some of the best Egyptian food can be bought from the street carts in this part of town.
