Puerto Pollensa or Port de Pollenca is a municipal district and at the same time a holiday resort, located on the northwest coast of Spain’s island of Mallorca or Majorca. From the Son Sant Joan airport of the capital city of Palma, Puerto Pollensa is about 58 kilometres or one and a half hour drive away. The old-fashioned charm provided by the hotels, coupled with the sandy beaches, friendly atmosphere and relaxing views, all make these holidays a favourite among British families and couples.

Luxury and Relaxation
The bay of Pollensa serves as a home to multiple luxury yachts and colourful fishing boats. The natural beaches in the area have recently been extended by an artificial one, all of them offer swimming and water sports facilities. However, there are no water parks or karting tracks in the area, making it more suitable for people who seek quiet relaxation and escape from the busy southern coast resorts of Mallorca. The bay’s warm shallow and clean waters make it popular for families who have small children or beginner swimmers.

Dramatic and Scenic Views
For visitors, one of the most striking features of Puerto Pollensa is the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range, which forms a protective shelter around the resort. The magnificent backdrop provided by the Tramuntana range makes walks on the horseshoe-shaped Pollensa bay extra special. If you want to explore the Tramuntana though, make sure that you bring a local guide book in order to prevent becoming lost.
