Travel Destinations and Attractions
Paphos is a historical city with important significance in Greek and Roman mythology. It is believed that the Goddess of love, Aphrodite, was born in Paphos. The Baths of Aphrodite attract a large number of visitors. It is located on the Akamas Peninsula near Latchi, which is a small fishing village. According to legend, the pools will restore fertility, but do not jump in. Visitors are restricted from bathing in the pool. Another destination that makes for an interesting Paphos holiday is the Acropolis. The second century complex was built entirely of limestone and consists of 12 rows of seats. Today, the venue is used for outdoor events and live shows. The Paphos lighthouse is visible from the acropolis and the Asclepius temple is to the south. Upon arriving at the Kato Paphos harbour, it is pretty hard not to notice the Paphos Fort. The immense bronzed castle is considered by UNESCO as one of the world’s most important cultural and historical sites. An arched bridge connects the castle and the harbour. From the top of the castle, you can have a panoramic view of the city and coastline. Seeing this would complete your vacation.

Getting Around Paphos
Holidays in Paphos are accessible and convenient. The international airport in Paphos is the second largest in Cyprus and it provides flights to and from the coastal town. The city itself has a moderate amount of traffic, which can become unbearable during peak tourist months. It is best to take a taxi or rent a car. Public buses are available, but they follow a strict schedule and they do not go to every locality. Transportation on Paphos holidays is definitely manageable.
