Things to do
A Lanzarote holiday offers a range of different and exciting places to visit. One of the most popular of these is the Manta Diving centre in Puerto Del Carmen. It offers a fun and safe chance to try scuba diving for anyone from brand new divers to seasoned veterans who can’t wait to do it again. In only 15 minutes you get an in-depth briefing of the dive and then you can get suited up and head into the water, starting with shallow water and moving on to full dives once you become more comfortable. It also offers an area for kids to have fun so it is a perfect place for families to visit. Another place perfect for families is the Rancho Texas Park, also in Puerto del Carmen. It is an amusement park filled with animals and they put on plenty of shows with different animals such as sea lions and birds of prey. You can also have pictures taken with the animals. There are also places to enjoy a meal with the family within the park. At night you can enjoy line dancing, food and drinks, and a mechanical bull! It really does offer something for the whole family.
Nature
A stunning natural resort is the Timanfanya National Park. This park offers a bus tour of some of the stunning craters and drops around the volcanic wasteland in the centre of the island. As one of the top tourist attractions in the city, it’s a must during your vacation. The park shows off the power of Mother Nature created by lava from volcanic eruptions. The park also offers camel rides and has a restaurant with a grill warmed by volcanic power. With beautiful, colourful dunes, this is a unique place to visit and is not to be missed. Another natural beauty is the Mirador del Rio, a pretty lookout point that overlooks the North West coast and the island of Isla Graciosa.
Culture
If it’s history and culture you’re after, a holiday in Lanzarote is perfect. The Fundacion Cesar Manrique is an ideal place to visit. Just north of Arrecife, it is the house of artist and designer Cesar Manrique. With three galleries, one filled with Manrique’s work, one with Picasso and Miro’s work and one hosting smaller temporary exhibitions, it is a must-see for art lovers and the admission fee helps up and coming artists. The Lagomar museum is a beautiful secret in Lanzarote that hosts a museum, a pretty home, gardens and a restaurant.
