Ibiza Holidays - Things to do

What to See During an Ibiza Holiday
The beaches and bays that grace this beautiful island are countless. Among a few of the many to visit are the Cala Jondal, well suited to singles and families, the super-clear water and stunning Cala Benirras, Es Cavallet and S’Aigua Blanca and the Ses Salinas, described as the most lively beach on the island. There are over 50 splendid beaches for tourists on holiday in Ibiza to explore. Sunset views on this island are insurmountable.

Experiencing Culture in Ibiza, Spain’s Cities
Elvisa is the city’s capital, which houses the mysterious Dalt Vila, a small citadel fortification which guards the Bay. Nearby, in the old quarter, the Portal de Ses Taules opens the door to wonderful 16th century fortifications that are also visible from the mainland. There inside the Eglesia de Santo Domingo are frescoed walls in the Baroque building, while works of art are on display at the nearby Museu d’Art Contemporani. And surrounding the entire quarter is the charming Cathedral which is a 13th century Catalon Gothic building. Sant Anoni is Ibiza’s second largest city, which is now a bustling and busy harbor. There is the site of the chapel of Santa Agnes, an early Christian temple.

Towns to Tour on
Sant Josep, lying adjacent to Ibiza’s highest mountain Sa Talaissa offers great views and a private islet cove called Es Vedra, a beautiful pyramid shaped rock, rising out from the sea. The white churches of Northern Ibiza’s Els Amunt, set in pined hills and valleys that grow vineyards, fig trees and olives and almonds, draw crowds and remind tourists of the island’s rural and pious past. Here Sant Miquel and Balafia are whitewashed domed buildings with watchtowers and the site of local performances in the summer. Sant Eularia also offers 16th century churches, the island’s only river and its traditional Museu Etnologic exhibits costumes and olive presses, as well as art and craft markets.

Take a Trip to Formentera During Ibiza Holidays
An unspoiled paradise and only a mere hour boat ride from Ibiza, Formentera provides stunning beaches as well as an 18th century capital, Sant Francesc Xavier. The Ca Ca Costa sepulcher is one well worth seeing, believed to date back to 300BC and the Cap de Barbaria, another landmark, is an 19th century defense tower and lighthouse. The landscape on this tiny paradise is protected by law, making the powdery beaches of Cala Sahona and Migjorn protected and worth seeking.
