Tunisia’s Djerba or Jerba is a beautiful island located in the Mediterranean Sea. Since times immemorial, Jerba with its rich landscape and idyllic beaches has cast a spell on its visitors. Jerba under Phoenicians and Romans was called as Meninx. Situated off the southern coast of Tunisia, in proximity to Libya, Jerba is connected to the mainland Tunisia by a 6 km (3.6 mi) causeway. This island has a long shoreline that presents idyllic surroundings with sandy-white beaches, and shallow blue waters of the Mediterranean. Jerba is a perfect holiday destination, and is completely family-friendly. Characterized by clear blue skies, shining white houses, clean and well-maintained towns, lush-green and tree covered country-side, and warm climate, Jerba can find few parallels across the Mediterranean. Jerba offers a striking visual treat to its visitors. It is luxuriant in innumerable palms, olives, apricots, carobs, figs, grapes, grenadines, lemons, mandarins, oranges and pomegranates.
