Algarve Holidays - Weather
Weather
The Algarve has beautiful weather nearly all year round, with cooling breezes moderating even the midsummer heat. Although the summer months (June to August) are the hottest, with temperatures in the high twenties and lows in the mid-to-upper teens, there are a few days in each month with some rainfall, typically in the afternoon hours. Algarve winters allow visitors from northern climates to escape freezing temperatures and snow and ice and bask in higher temperatures of about 16 degrees Celsius and lows of around eight degrees.
Spring and Autumn
Spring and autumn are considered the “shoulder seasons,” with fewer tourists than the summer months, but more than the winter months. These shoulder seasons are ideal times to visit the Algarve, because almost everything is open (some attractions close or limit hours during the winter months) and many locations offer discounts to tourists. Temperatures are very moderate, with highs around 19 to 21 degrees Celsius and lows of around ten degrees.
